does anyone know what the dealer would charge to install PDC's on my E60 (ball park figure)?

Front and Rear + Install.

i am going to be buying an M-tech kit this month and since I am doing this upgrade, i thought i might as well get the PDC kit.

thanks -

i think not worth it, either you have the package when you buy the car, or get aftermarket backup camera
if you want factory PDC, it will cost more than you paint your bumper 5 times

You know PDC is a great feature but I'm more concerned about the other people parking around me. In NYC they seem to have a terrible tendancy of not stopping until there has been contact with their bumper, wheather it be front or rear, and your car. IMO, PDC isn't worth it as an aftermarket unless you are one of the other guys.

I remember visiting NYC, and chatting with some fellows in a bar...I commented on how close together cars parked on NYC Streets.
Guy says to me:"Thats what we have bumpers for."

That's why I never park my car on the street in Manhattan. I always park in a garage. NYC drvers simply do not give a crap about your bumper when they are parallel parking.

if you are good driver you don't need those pdc , I have and is very helpful when parking in tight spots specially in NYC. Save your money and the hassle.

This kit might be an option for you:

More than $1250, I went with the front/rear camera install with ACM,planning to add a net computer(W/live TV) and connect it via ACM.
License Plate Mounted Park Distance Control Kit (Rear Only) does not work properly per the BMW SA since it is mounted high with a limited range. It is being sold on ebay for $209 --> http://cgi.ebay.com/License-Plate-Mounted-Park-Distance-Control-Kit_W0QQitemZ220370115304QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item334f151ae8&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116One advantage with PDC is you get audible warning where as with camera you need to look at the screen.

In my case the rear view camera is a wide angle model and has excellent view (almost close to blind spot) day or night.
