Hi guys. I read that the centre armrest storage box is supposed to be cooled. Is this right?

I don't seem to have this, even though I have the climate control option. Does anyone else have this?

its in there, you have to open the mini sliding door...the vent is located at the front end of the compartment(facing you}...

My cooled compartment is directly under the telephone in the armrest.

Great post!
I've had my car for 18 months and I never knew this! (to open the sliding door, that is)

Thanks for the replies guys.

I have the telephone too, but underneath, the compartment does not seem to be cooled. It's just a felt-lined box. I guess I need to speak to my dealer.

You must have the extended climate control to have this option. Do you have separate temp control for left and rigth side? If not, you have the standard AC and no cooled compartment.

But seriously what would you put in there?
Candybar?
Goldfish?

Seems like a novelty at best, IMHO.
I've had two Passats with this feature in the glovebox and never used it.

I keep chocolate in there. It does help to keep it from melting this time of year.

I keep Candy in there. On a long drive I once put a warm can of soda in there. 2 hrs later it was cool.

I keep my frozen steaks in there instead of my house freezer
