Today I get a warning sign on the idrive that the coolant was low. Went back to the house to top it off with coolant. I noticed that it was leaking as I put in the coolant. The leak was traced to a Y-connector that snapped underneath the throttle body. This is a 2004 545i.
Hope this helps somebody out there that might get a similar problem. Here is a pic of the Y-connector that broke.
Had to remove the throttle body to access the part. Got the part from our local BMW dealer. Part # 17127519247.
