So i got in my car today and and it said super low coolant, figured id go to autozone pick up some prestone is what i got. After putting it in, i hear its not good to go with that, and you should use bmw coolant. Is this true and should i be worried about anything. Im not use to having this high end of a car, autozone is what i usually go with.

You should have just added distilled water. The problem is with incompatible formulation with the coolant already in your engine.
If it's not a lot, you might be fine.

Mixing coolants, even the right coolant, is not recommended. And in the long term will result in unnecessary repair cost , like leakage, coolant pump and worse.
Don?t know when coolant had a change? Change now ! and every 2 to 3 years .
