luigi, welcome and smart choice sticking w/BMW
not to mention with a little coaxing from Rudy, once you entered and asked on this board you were never gonna see the inside of that infiniti or roadfly....
The Infiniti did have some features I liked and the reputation of being more trouble free. But, oh the pain had I slid over to the "dark side"!

I haven't had a 5'er since my 524TD ... boy do I wish I had that e28 now!

But now after two 7'ers I have an opportunity to buy a 2007 530xi sedan with 10K miles and a full load of options ... Sport, Premium, Nav, PDC, Comfort Access, Heads-up, and the list goes on.

The car has the BMW Maintenance pkg but isn't coming from a BMW store so there is no chance to get it "certified".

That said, after dealing with an e32 and e38 with their expensive maintenance and repairs I'm weighing the option of going to an 2008 Infiniti M35 AWD with similar options, comparable performance, but better reliability. (BUT it's not a BMW ?!?!?)

I've been a BMW owner and driver for more than 20 years and the thought of driving something else is keeping me awake at night. My 2001 e38 is real sweet to drive ... but just crossing over to 90K miles and it's inevitable that it's going to start costing me some reliability pain (cooling system replacement, suspension R&R, Tranny service, etc etc etc.)

Opinions are welcome ... PLEEEZZE!

I looked at everything in the same class/price range of the 530XI and after twenty months I still look forward to driving my 2007 530XI every day. I know I wouldn't feel that way about the, Infinity, Lexus, Acura, or Merc! Good luck and just go for it. The worst that can happen is you'll have fun for 40,000 miles.

Thanks for attaching the manual -- unfortunately, that looks to be the same manual (from 02/07) that's posted under "2008" on the forums. Maybe we need to link it to the "2007" date too...
That's really the 2008 or more properly perhaps, the LCI manual. It has the various internal and external changes which arrived with the LCI. It's still mostly the same, but Luigi will be slightly misinformed (until he gets his hard copy of the 2007 manual) about some differences in lighting, transmission actuation, etc.

Fear not, the 2007 Owner's Manual is now available. If the sun shines over the weekend I'll get a couple of pics up of my new (to me) '07 530xi.

Are you saying you found a different electronic version or are you talking about the hard-copy version you received with the car?

I now have the books that came with my '07 530xi (picked up the car today) but also had previously downloaded the pdf. So, now the pdf in the e60 forum collection.

I'm confused. Do you have a .pdf that's different than the one you posted above? Is the book that came with the car different than the .pdf you posted?

After I looked at the .pdf you posted, it's the same version as the one we have as the 2008 LCI (facelifted/refreshed) manual. Is your car an LCI or a pre-LCI?
