I think Rudy knows exactly how long the dash in the term "Anal-retentive" is.

Sorry to be picky, if you have the bi-xenons and active lights (cornering lights and directional headlights) the 'flash to pass' isn't provided by the inner set of lights, the flash is provided by the outer set of lights.
Ouch! Corrected by a newbie! Has this always been the case or is it an LCI function. I swear on my old 545 the inner lights were used for the flash to pass feature, just figured it was the same on the new car.

I still have yet to see the headlights turn in tandem with the steering wheel. I've checked at high and low speeds and they don't seem to move at all. The headlight switch is set to Auto. Any ideas?
Maybe you don't have adaptive headlights?

How do I know if I have Adaptive Headlights? Is this a standard feature? Does it come with Premium package? Sport? Is it a stand-alone option?
All I know is they are very cool, and by far the best lamps I've had on a car. Gotta love them photons.

I have an 08 535 as described below.

Thanks

To confirm if you have adaptive lights, look closely around the circumference of the outboard lights -- if you have them, it'll say something like "BMW Adaptive Xenon" etched in a circular pattern around the bulbs...

When I get confused about my headlights (quite often) I park in front of a store front window and go through all the swtich/stalk settings. I can also see the cornering lamps move when turning the wheel.

Best to do it when the store is not occupied.

P.S. Does not work very well when parrellel or angle parked!

As far as I know, the cornering lamps do not move. They simply throw the light in a sideways direction and come on and off when the steering wheel postiton, turn signals, vehicle speed, and/or gear selector dictate that they're needed...

Vert true Rudy and also when you start the car in a darkened garage it's kind of cool to see them "wiggle" up/down then side to side a bit as they self-level when the car is 1st started.
