My Ride: 2007 550, premium, sport, nav, bluetooth, satellite, cold, M5/Mtech front bumper and side skirts, matte black kidney grilles, M5 fender grilles, M5 mirrors, euro stickers, 35% tint, 20" Miro 111s (summer), 18" VMR VB3s w/ 10 mm H&R spacers (winter)
Before my black on black E60, I had a black on black E39 sport for four years. I got a lot of compliments on the E39 from strangers but nothing like the E60. Last weekend alone, I had 5-6 total strangers approach me and compliment the car. It's funny... if you ever visit the E39 forums, they talk about the E60 like it's the uncle everyone's ashamed of... (referring to the bold design change). I felt like I was in the minority because I actually liked the design. In fact, I like this car more and more every day I have it. I didn't buy the car to get compliments but have to say it's very flattering when total strangers want to stop you and compliment your rig. Anyone else have the same experience?

Off topic: Anyways, can some tell me the meaning when a person shows you his pinky finger and thumb and twisting his wrist? I'm not good at sign language.

I get the "double take," you know, when people pass you up and look at your car, and then they look at it the second time just after passing you. One guy was driving 75 mph on the freeway when he passed me, so I was at his 7 o'clock. He turned his head completely and ignored the road for a couple of seconds to look at the bimmer Another guy in a convertible 350Z did that to me on our way to an anniversary dinner. I think he wanted to race.

This is actualy funny how previous generation owners bash on e60. Later they will drive one trust me, it's been like that with every new model.
Whats realy important that the new bimmer gets attention everywhere either positive or negative still...

Re the hand gesture - some of the Brits on the board are probably thinking of the same "universally accepted gesture" that I am. It's delivered to quite a lot of BMW drivers in the UK. I think it might be a sign of respect

you know compliments, and the best is that my "ugly no chrome front grilled" car is concidered for people as "classy and very elegant" not as badass blacked maniac (I know the truth) My Jet Black washed is stunning w auburn espec. so it gets -priority and
