Does anyone else find it annoying that a standard E60 does not have a compass? I don't have NAV but I can still get my latitude/longitude but I can't get a screen with a compass? I think this could be an easy fix.

Already got fried on this issue a year ago, Oak.
"A compass is stupid, Evenflow."
"Get navgation, Evenflow."
Useless argument on this forum, although I agree with you. Have you tried looking at the sun a bunch while you're driving? That's what Jesus did.

[/quote]Part Number 51 16 0 304 488 gets both compass AND homelink at around $475 in US.
Also a retrofit kit ( 61 31 0 148 128) in 5 series accessories catalog for 21.00. Not sure why it's needed or what it is retrofitting u from. May or not be needed in your case.

If you're going down to Seven Eleven for a slurpie, is it absolutely imperative to know if you're traveling south or east? For all other trips of a longer duration, I've always found HIGHWAY SIGNS useful. Unless, you're at, say, a Boy Scout jamboree deep in the woods, and you become disoriented...then I could see where it would be of use to get the car pointed in the correct direction-if you knew which direction the highway was from the trail.

They can be very useful to those that dont get their bearings naturally. Sometimes you'll receive directions from someone and they'll say to take "so and so Avenue north" and the sign won't read that way. And my wife even still has issues with her "lefts" and "rights"!
Again, just a nice to have feature that most bottom line NEW cars have. I like the compass in the rear-view mirror. Should be standard, IMO.
