Will be ordering new 5 with comfort seats. Since I'm also getting M Sport Pak which already includes the sport seats, they won't give me a credit for the sport seats. Bummer!!
My current 7 has the comfort and ventilated seats with Nasca leather. Verrry Nice. Hardly ever used the ventilated option except on a couple of long trips. Feels funny when you turn on the 'active' component. Sort of like someone is doing a dance on your rear.
Question: I love the perforated leather I have now. Is that available on the 5? If so, what option includes it. From what I can see, there's only the comfort seats and ventilated option on the 5.

Vented seats are a priority one option. You need comfort, nasca, ventilation.

[/quote]Iceman....I notice that you have nasca leather on your comfort seats, how is it looking after a years wear and tear. I ask this because I have ordered this on my new car and was wondering if it wears as good as the dakota leather.

Did you get comfort seats or sports seats?? For my ED '06 550, I've asked my dealer to prepare an e60 with sports seats and one with comfort seats so I can compare them.? He replied that "people rarely upgrade to the comfort seats"... and that consequently it would be hard for me to demo the comfort seats upgrad.? Did you upgrade to comfort seats?

The sport seats are OK (and even the standard ones) but...
A few pounds in weight more doesn't mean anything in a 550iA.

If you haven't purchased yet, get the comfort seats. This is a bad name for these seats. I have owned the sport seats on an M5 and an M3. I take my cares to the track all the time. The comfort seats provide all the support of the sport seats, with way more flexability and comfort. Trust me you wont regret these seats.

I have sports seats with no lumbar and to this day, I get uncomfortable about an hour or two into a drive. Posture plays a big role for me though, because if I do some real spirited driving for an hour or so, I feel just fine, since I guess I sit more upright.
Sports seats seem to be a bit of misnomer as to me they don't feel very sporty. I could care less about a good looking seat and increased adjustability as long as the seat is supportive and holds you in place from the onset.
I'm 6'3, 215, so I'm not exactly tiny, but I feel that these seats just engulf you and just really lack support. This seems to be more of the luxury side of our sport sedans.

My Ride: 2005 545i ordered - built 1/05 - arrived 3/16/05 . Silver Gray - Biege Interior. Sports Package, Steptronics, Comfort Seats, Cold Weather Package, Rear Fold Down Seats, Sat Radio.
Mods: Seatback Hangar, Trunk Net, Umbrella.
Comfort seats - best seat option. Worth every penny. They are sport seats with many more adjustments and comfort aspects. One of BMW's best kept secret - my saleman did not suggest either.
