I never tried the comfort seats, but the sports seats are uncomfortable.
Comfort seats = an alternative place to sleep on when your partner kicks you out

My 04, 545i was equipted with sports package and had sports seats which I've had on other bimmers so I was really excited to get this car, but that changed quickly. IMO, these seats were poorly designed and without a doubt the most unconfortable seats I have ever had in a car, I just could not adjust them to make myself happy. My wife who often sat in the passenger seat also could not find a comfortable arrangment, these seats were just to dam hard.
I traded the car in for a brand new 550i with sports package, this car came with comfort seats as standard equiptment and oh boy are these seats cool. The amount of adjustments are endless and this tush really appreciates the design. the new 550i has quite a few improvements over my 545 which are welcome, but the seats are just a must.
Hope this helps, good luck

I have the sport seats and had a chance to sit in the comfort seats in a 550 in the dealer showroom.......
GET THE COMFORT SEATS !!!!!
They are incredible !!! I REALLY regret not having them in my 530......I LOVE my car....but the comfort seats are my only regret !!!

Same opinion, get those comfort seats!!!!!!
I have never tried those, but standard seats gives me even a better support then those sport seats. Lateral support is just zero.
