I would get both (well I have...).
If you have some kind of back problems the comfort seats are a MUST!
If you don't have any back problems at all... How often do you listen to the radio? How often do you play CD's? Listen to CD's often? Get the L7!
Both are the best stock seats/sound systems you can get in a car, IMHO. Worth every cent.
If there is any chance you can get them both, take them both.

HiFi is good, but L7 is even better.

I'd get the comfort seats becuase you can install an "uber 1337" system later (and probably for cheaper too)

If you can't have them both, then it should be a no-brainer -- as mentioned in several responses, you can always upgrade the audio later, but it is not at all easy (or cost effective) to upgrade the seats. As such, you should get the comfort seats.

The standard seats are marginal - you need to get comfort or sport seats - I wish I did. The L7 is great but I don't know if it is worth the money. I have never heard the standard stereo.

"Standard" BMW seats are good, but standard BMW sound is, in my opinion, awful.
I can put up with seats that hurt my back after a 10 hour drive; however, I simply can't tolerate bad sounding music/radio in my car 24/7.
Additionally, trying to update the standard system isn't worth it, in my opinion. I tried it on a Z3, when I was too cheap to upgrade the system at the time of purchase. You pour a bunch of cash into it, and then it ends up hurting resale value.

I have both options, by the way, and would give up the seats if I had to choose. Even though the seats are exceptional.

For some reasons I won't go with sport pkg, so I won't have sport seats.
