Comfort Access Keys

My Ride: 2005 530Xi
Was just told yesterday that I cannot add a 3rd comfort access key to my 2007 530xi and that the system was limited to 2 keys with comfort access functions. I can use the third key without the comfort access functions.
This sounds strange to me. I can add 4 bluetooth phones but only 2 comfort access keys. Does anyone know if this is true.
