CA seems costly but it's very cool and convenience. you never have to take your keys out to enter and start the car. also, you will never be locked out of your car. e.g. forgetting your key in the trunk or car, the doors/trunk will not stay lock

Privacy from non family passengers (they do not see what else in keychain)
less risk of dropping in manhole/water when taking out the keys
good for women keeping it in purse/bag
This is one of the features-I bought 5-Series
One security question : The CA fob has to be in close range all the time once car is started or is it possible to drive the car without CA fob as in case of carjacking, does the car stop once CA fob is not within range ???

oh sorry. All it does it u touch the handle and it unlocks the doors right & no need to put in key to start i guess, anything else?
you can tap the area around the key hole and it locks and arms the car.
No need to ever get your keys out of the pocket.
The car does give me a warning display when I walked out of it after starting the engine.
I don't know how far before it'll shut itself off.
I guess I'll test it later.

So, it takes some getting used to and learning some new habits. Personally, I am a keys freak and would be disconcerted if I didnt need to use my keys for my car. Women love it, though, because they can can keep the fob in their purses.
I do believe the next progression is to have some sort of action when the fob goes out of range, either engine shutoff and auto lock, or maybe honking and lights flashing. I didnt order it for myself since I dont think its worth a thousand dollars to me.

You can always do what my dad does -- leave the transponder in the car and just lock it in the car when he parks. Sure, anyone can walk up, unlock it, and drive away but try telling that to my dad...
