hi,

while discussing my new car ( it arrived today) with the salespeople, the next topic came up:
if you have the comfortseat with memory, you can link your settings to your key; e.g. when you get in, the seatmemory will adjust to your favorite setting, when my wife enters with her key (if I let her..) the chair will adjust to her settings. will this also work with comfort acces?, I mean, without slotting the key?

Yes, it is supposed to work the same way. So she gets one fob (if she is lucky) and you get one too.

edit: remember that you have to turn this feature on. Not sure if it is on by default.

I have comfort access working in my car, and the memory settings come with comfort access, as well as with the regular keys with any bmw. The function is based on each key, and in our case with comfort access, our key is the remote. So as long as your wife does not grab your keys or viceversa anytime you open the car your settings will be displayed.

It really is cool!!!

I hate to comment on this without checking and I have not used it enough to notice, but I think each key also sets, in addition to the seat setting, the last used setting for your steering wheel, side rear view mirrors, radio channal and a/c setting.

Yeah...almost all the settings change depending on who's fob you use to enter the car...seats, mirrors, radio stations, heat settings, steering wheel, and probably alot more too!

I'm 6'1", listen to news and sports, Jazz and classic rock.

My wife is (a-hem) 5', listens to nothing but love songs.

All the radio and SAT presets, and seat settings are adjusted.

The car knows all this before I even get in the seat. I hit the unlock button before I get into the garage.

I wish my wife's X5 was that smart.
