My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
Really close to order a new 520dA now with 17" Style 244 rims and 225/50 tires.
All extras are in order, see this, but what color?
The car will have a leather/fabric anthracite interior.
Space or Platinum Grey? And why?
Titan Silver is out because I have had it for 2,5 years and both Blue and Black colors show dirt so easily.

I've had Titanium Silver for 18 months. Pick up new car in just over a week, Titanium Silver again. Everybody has different colour tastes - pick whichever one _you_ like best - they are all great

only thing ill say about ti silver (which i have) is that its a little boring, but it ages well. even a darker gray will show fine scratches and show dirt a bit more...not a huge diff though

My Ride: 2011, X6 Hybrid . Alpine White , every option. 20" Conti' NON runflats,OEM trunk spoiler , LUX V3 AE's , HP Thunder Fogs , custom front bumper reflector delete........
Go for the lightest color for longer cleaning intervals plus its a nice evolution from T/S. Having said that I personally love T/S.
Cheers

I would go with the space grey. It is not to dark and not to light. My last 3 cars were black and wait a pain to clean. Now with this color, I can go 3 weeks without washing it and not be obsessed about cleaning every second as I did before. The only way you can tell the car has not been cleaned.....just look at the rims, the brake dust is just caked on there.
Depending on the lighting, I see a more silver tone in shady areas and in bright lite areas it is more grey. Something similar to carbon black.
Good luck!!

Both are nice colours, really depends on your personal preference. You are concerned about dirt that can be easily seen, go for the lighter space grey. Platinum grey is a new colour for the LCI model and my personal preference is ths Platinum grey. But, darker colours are generally more difficult to maintain.

Ricracing,
My personal preference is towards the darker colour, but both look great! Nice rims by the way...
Checked your specs, no USB option??? For the cost I would add it in to give you that choice in the future. Also interested in your upgrade to chrome kidney grills, is that offered as a dealer option or is he doing you a special?

I usually have my cars for 2 to 3 years. Maybe on the next on, a F10?
The chrome grills are not a normal option.
I think they just look that much better than the standard 520d ones, so the dealer have to order them separately and install.
The deal will probably be made tomorrow, the dealer is working hard to get the price right.
The normal price for the car with my extras would be about 67,000 Euros including VAT (22%)
