I have been leaving the car out of my garage lately since we are working on our home.

Friday evening it was cold I parked the car for about 6 hours at a party, went to start it nothing

the starter kicks and stays tuning but no spark seems to fire the ignition.

I did this several times no luck, waited about 40 minuts tried it again, I depressed the brake pedal then as the car appeared to want to fire i floor the gas pedal and it fired, it hessitated alot then i floored it and the RPM jumped to 7k then the car was now on and running but very rough at idle the RPM was jumping from 1000 to 500 -800 causing the car to stutter.

Now I drive park it again Saturday Morning the car is dead after 5 attempts, I used my wifes car.

Came back 4 hours later still dead

About another hour later the car started up fine.

What the hell can be going on here

I tried both keys an I just left BMW, they said nothing is wrong, I was almost stranded Friday night and Saturday I had to use another car, this is terrible

Anyone have this same issue? What could be causing it and what is done to fix it.

I do notice when the car starts alot of white smoke comes out of the exhaust, i know some is normal but this is excessive and very foul smelling.

I am thinking it may be the ECU mapping for the engine or some emissions control device that is failing.
