My Ride: Coming soon...
I somehow managed to let a dime slip under the console power outlet. I'm referring to the one that flips up and down when you slide the ashtray lid open. How do I take it apart? Also, the outlet doesn't work anymore...did i break it?
P.s. the coin is not in the power outlet itself, it slid under the oulet somehow.

I removed my ashtray last night in 5 minutes.
You need to:
Pull up the gearshift gaiter to expose 2 torx20 bolts underneath.
Undo these and then pull up the iDrive controller.
Then gently pry the centre console panel that runs from the arm rest to the centre stack.
(at this point you can unclip the menu button and remove it completely or like me just slide it over the gearshift and leave on the passenger seat)
You should now be able to remove the dime, but if it's buried the ashtray can be removed by undoing the 4 x torx 20 bolts (Note one of them is a real pig to get to), unplug the cigarette lighter plug and Bob's your uncle.

Have you tried a powerful central vacuum to pull it back out the way it went in?

I have mines stuck before and my friends car. I just use a very small screw driver any works as long as its the tiny ones. Poke one side very hard and it should get loose and use like a Popsicle stick and the screw driver carefully clamp it and pull it out. Thats what I did hope it works for it, did it like more then 3 times to mines =)
