Default Coilover Discussion

I'm looking to get some coilovers for my 2007 550.I'm not planning on tracking my car.I've been looking at different brands and uncertain of which to go with. The brand I've looked at our kW, st, BC, and CKS. if anyone can chime in and give me some feedback comments or reviews about the coilover system they have in their vehicle I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm looking at a few things 1. Ride quality. 2 durability and reliability.3 cost.

I don't think I'm going to mess with the settings on the clovers. since I'm not tracking my card I do want something that's going to be able to be comfortable for long driives. most likely I am considering purchasing is the KWV 1. I have not heard one bad review yet. As for the CKS I have also heard nothing but positive information / feedback. I am Not sure that I need the options such as dampeners and rebound control.any information that you guys can help supply me with will be more than helpful I do appreciate you guys taking the time and helping An e60 colleague out. Thank you

I hear ST Coils are the same as KW V1. The only difference is the KW has an extra coating which makes it more corrosion proof. Not saying the ST coils will corrode quickly though. However, as for myself, if I were to get coils, I would get KW Street Comforts when it's time for me to get them. Not looking to track either but to control ride height and maintain a smooth ride. I haven't heard anything bad about KW Street Comforts.

Thank you for the reply. With the street comfort vs the v1:do the comfort series sacrifice a little more body roll to gain that comfortable ride? I have the sport suspension currently, does the v1 feel like a "tracked" suspension? Any one here have the v1 that can give me some feedback? Has anyone drove a car and felt the difference between the v1 and the comfort?

Since you guys are in SoCal I'd tell you to get ST CO's since it never rains in SoCal. Going with either the ST's or KW's will be a great choice. I personally went with the V2's so when I do go on a spirited drive I can dial up the rebound. The only downside of the KW's are that they are a little pricy however you do get what you pay for.

Very easy. You take the dial knob they give you, put it in the top of the shock and turn till you hear the amount of clicks you need. The hardest part is the rears since you have to pull the lining out to access the top of the shock. Usually I have the rears a few clicks softer then the fronts.
