Just got V5, the co2 should be 178 but it states 182, help
Can I be bothered speaking to DVLA, or is it because I have larger wheels (Audi quote higher co2 if wheels are bigger)
Please advise guys

It is not to do with the wheels as BMW don't make this distinction for some reason.
Check when your car was actually manufacturered and if from Sept, it should be the lower figure. I would contact DVLA - if your is a company car you will pay less tax.
To find out the manufacturing date go into you cars secret menu - there are posts here if you do a seach. This will give you the actual day of manufacture.

Thanks for the info, I had now confirmed this myself ,the car was Sept build, so I will contact DVLA and do battle, any ideas?
You could try discussing this with your dealer who could then sort it out on your behalf. It might originate from his error.

I would print off the stuff from the VCA website and send it to them with a letter of explanation. The funny thing is that it may be a dealer issue, as I would have thought the dealer would give them the emissions figure rather than DVLA looking it up.

I have just looked at my V5C. It states 200g/Km. The VCA web site, http://www.vcacarfueldata.org.uk/ says my car is 176 g/Km and the V5C says 200g/Km!!!! I paid ?40 too much VED. I will be on the phone in the morning.

The official EU CO2 test's are made in a dyno lab, in a 20 minute long period (city and sub-urban mix).
It's hard to compare that with a magazine-test-driver person who drives the cars pedal-to-the-metal style.

Thanks for advice, I tried DVLA they said ' I had to have a letter from the manufacturer' , so I took your advice and gave it all back to the dealer to sort. Will let you know out come.

Had the same problem with my LCI 5'er. A Letter from BMW UK Customer Services, with the chasis # of your car and the CO2 volume is what you need. Takes about a month to come back. Had success doing it this way for my car.

My advice is to always check your V5. Could be a major problem for company car drivers and their tax.
