Default Cluster coding

Here is the deal the previous owner of my 04 e60 545i sport changed the gauge cluster because the face was cracked. He put in a 530i cluster from an 05. Now I'm having an issue where my service intervals not registering along with milage being reset if the battery is disconnected to what was on the cluster. Tamper light is also on. My question is would BMW scanner 2.0.1 work to put my vin on the cluster and put the correct miles on the car ?

Thank you

I have actually tried it with said bmw scanner that tool doesn't work, that tool is total garbage. Check out this tread it explains how to change the VIN in a used kombi. I ended up buying a brand new kombi from ebay.uk for $150, couldn't believe my luck.
