I believe a member mentioned the ability to close an open window with the "lock" button on the key. I did a search without success. Does your middle (BMW) button close your windows if you hold it down. My "unlock" button will open the windows but I can't seem to close them. Thanks, any information is greatly appreciated.

you just need to insert your key to the key hole, turn it to the "lock" position and hold until all the windows and moonroof close completely. The middle/lock button won't do the trick by holding it down. Hope this will help .

As I recall from earlier discussions, you could only open with the key, not close. Likely for saftey reasons or because of the lawsuit happy folks here in the U.S.

In the US you can open your windows by holding the UNlock button pressed, but you can't close them.

iceman, i thought holding the "unlock" buttom to open all the windows and moonroof, not lock. also, insert the key and turn it to lock, all the windows and moonroof will close. i've been doing this even for my previous e39. am i missing something?

The comfort closing and opening features are standard here in the UK but I recall that its deactivated in the US to comply with laws in the US.

Yes, unfortunately... Someone in the US must have closed thier kids head in the window with the remote once upon a time... or (more likely) some lawyer thought it "could" be done.. therefore... "that option is not availiable in the US"

The funny thing is that this feature is not available for US spec cars, but the US spec cars get the trunk release button... Probably only until a kid is standing behind the car when the driver pushes the button and the trunk knocks the kid's head...

Well its available if you can get a dealer or the software to activate it.?
And you're right about that...
