Got in the car yesterday and the clock needed to be reset. All other presets were fine. Anyone have a clue?

I've seen that happen once in a while but usually it comes back after a minute or two -- did you reset it right away or did you wait a bit?

Good point. I reset it right away. I think the date was also wiped out, but quickly reset itself.

the e60 is smart, if you leave something on, or there is a battery drain. it will disconnect the battery before the battery gets flat. you know when it did it, cause the clock and date is lost.

I had the same problem this morning. I noticed the Comfort Access didn't work (door wouldn't open), and when I got in, the clock was showing 00:00 and there was a msg on iDrive telling me to set the time. Glitches, ghosts, whatever it is, it's still a pleasure to own a Ultimate Driving Machine

Recently, ne night, waiting for a ferry I sat parked in the car, listening to the radio. Stupidly I didn't realise that I'd left the angle eyes and sidelights on. After about 2 hours I got the BONG and the battery symbol appeared.

I realised how stupid I'd been and immediately turned off all electrical systems I could. Sitting there in the dark, minding my own business, after about 10 minutes, I caught sight of a flash of what appeared to be all the "LEDS" on the driver's instrumentation display. I feared the worst.

I turned on the ignition and IDrive said "Reset Clock". SH*T.

But when I looked ONLY the clock (and the trip odometer) had been reset.

Phew.

So... as others have said it could be battery level. For any number of reasons of course.
