My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i "Ben Hogan's 5 Iron" SilverGrey/Black Sport, L7, NAV, CW, AS, Split FR 2003 Audi A4 3.0 CVT "Part of the Moniker" Silver/Ebony, Prem, CW, Star 17s

For me sometimes being a dumbass becomes a weeklong habit, but time goes by and I return to normal. I like the climate controls now and now realize the star button always comes on when auto is selected. Just leave it on. Duh. Shutdown is easy too. Just hit the center button and off goes the auto mode and the fan. For air only just turn the dail and, if star light comes on, click it off. I think this only happens when the previous setting was auto.

One thing I really like is you can adjust the temp of air for fan mode. Do all decent cars have this?

My Audi's CC is much more difficult to operate.

When you say you can adjust the temp of the air, you mean the red bars and blue bars? If so then my previous E39 can do that too except not on the little screen. I think its been a feature on BMW for sometime now and on other cars they do have those too as you can choose to have cool air or warm air.

Have you also found the CC-control menu? There is not much there, but some fine turning is possible. Honestly, though, I have trouble knowing what the menu "pictures" imply. Maybe, there is info in the manual. I might look someday.
