I have an 04 545 and this problem just started today.
I keep the Climate system control set on Auto and I started the car and it came on as usual. Green lights on, cool air blowing etc.
I stat driving and notice no air is blowing and all of the lights are off. Everything dead.
I push all the buttons and and also tried to control it from idrive and nothing.
Stop and turn the car off, restart it and it comes back on but only for maybe 30 seconds and it shuts back down.
Then I notice after driving for a bit it would come on for a few seconds and shut back off.
Has anyone had this problem or heard of it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

So today I take the car out for a drive and everything works perfectly.
Go figure! I'm sure I haven't seen the end off this issue.
Anyone with any insight please chime in.
Thanks

I had something similar happen to me a few months ago (05 545). My AC was stuck on full blast with no cold air and nothing I did helped, not even turning it off. This lasted for about 5 min while driving then finally the controls worked. No problem since. Maybe a loose connection somewhere behind console or a bad temp sensor on the evaporator? idk Keeping my fingers crossed Good luck
