Default Climate control panel & temperature

Hello,

I've got a strange issue with the climate control panel (IHK) on my e60 530xi LCI.

I can't make the temperature regulators work anymore. All the lamps are ok (green and orange), except those which indicate the temperature (on both sides). As you can see from the picture, the central orange lamp is OK.

Is that the whole IHK block issue? Or those lamps can be replaced (doesn't look so).
Actually, I don't know if the temperature is being maintained anymore. The klima itself seems to work ok. All automatic programs as well.

Thank you!

I very much doubt this is burned out lamps/LEDs. It wouldn't be both sides at once. I'm also assuming that each side has multiple LEDs that follow the turning of the temperature knob.

I assume you have tried all combination of modes: AUTO on/off, AC on/off, normal versus customized vent settings (temp knob middle button).

My initial thoughts are: loose wire/connector inside the IHK, burned out part inside IHK, software problem.

I wonder if IHK has a master reset accessible anywhere.

twh, Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, I tried all the combinations (turning off auto mode, etc.).
Sounds like a weird issue (never heard about it, and actually could not find anyone facing exactly the same). Will go to BMW service, they probably advise to replace the whole unit.

Might be worth finding the right fuse for the climate control and removing that, waiting a half minute and putting it back in. It's a long shot, but it could be a software problem I suppose and might be fixed by a real reset of the climate control.

I have the Pre-LCI panel and it doesn't have any orange lights for indication off the temp set. As far as I know the LCI doesn't have it either.

I have a 2008 528xi and mine lights up just like the one in the picture. The one in the picture has the fan speed set manually, as indicated by no light on just above "auto", but that's the way they are. Mine's been that way since the car was new.

I have to say I feel pretty dumb right now. I'm going to blame it on being out of town I've had my car since July 2005. There are no lights on the temp knobs. There is circle of LEDs around the fan speed.
