House price is $500K is cheapest in Bay Area (3bed/2bath on 6000 sqft lot)
McDonald Meal is $4.50

So is $150K/year is better or worst than other European country?

I think ABC is alluding to the fact that the E60 is more 'exclusive' in the UK and he likes it that way.
There it takes around $90K to drive away even in a 530i, nicely loaded of course.

I believe he is indeed.
I live in the Netherlands, where a brand-new 530i, nicely specced, will set you back the better part of US$120k. Putting it into perspective, a 1,000 sq. ft. apartment in downtown Amsterdam will set you back the better part of US$450k, the same price as a 2,000 sq. ft. suburban home. No idea of the comparatives in the UK although, from experiece with the London area, US$450k will probably buy you a shoebox of an apartment.
The most often seen BMWs on the roads on my commute around Amsterdam are 320d's driven by 20-30something mid-senior managers, followed by 523i/525d's driven mainly by what looks like 50-something senior execs. I work for a Fortune 500 telecom company, and our seniormost person here rates a 523i as a company car. His counterpart in NJ rates a 750iL on the same spend. Kinds puts it into perspective, methinks

Oh ... and gas is EUR 1.45 (US$ 1.88) a litre here ... that's US$7.50 a gallon!

If you look (not too carefully) you'll find that I made no such assertion or indication of approval.

You are quite right, ABC, and I stand corrected.
I remains true, however, that most major models from most major carmakers are less easily attainable in Europe and the UK than they are in the US - purely due to the way they are priced in relation to what people earn and in relation to other major items of expense (e.g. housing). And, for my part, I truly am torn between wishing my Euros would buy more car than they currently do and that little sense of satisfaction that I get from encountering far fewer examples of what I drive now compared with when I used to drive around Central Scotland in an Opel Astra earlier in my career.

IMHO these orange relectors are far more ugly than the previous orange incorporated into the light clusters on US spec E60s. Seems like a very tacky after thought more akin to what you would buy from a car accessory store if you're that kind of driver who likes sticking pointless accessories on your car.
Not at all becoming of an executive car.

The clear headlights are nice, but to slap orange reflectors on the wheel wells is tacky.
I'm sure they'll be bunch of pre-LCI owners find ways to retrofit LCI head- and rearlight including myself
For sure DAS (co-admin of this site) will be the first one in line to do research on retrofitting for his rearlight
