My dealer said that unless something was actually wrong with the version I have, they wouldn't upgrade it for me.

Search around for faults in your current SW on this forum and prove those faults to your dealer. They'll update SW for you.
Complaints:

Hmmm, I if really do not have a problem with your car, why should you update it?
At least wait for the version 19.
That should be available in Oct/Nov at your lousy dealer.

1. AM static (installing new antenna, which requires re-programming)
2. Brakes squeaking
