My car is due to go in for the E60 emissions recall fix. According to the service bulletin, this involves reprogramming to v. 21. The car is 11 months old, has 14K miles, and runs like a charm. My question is, when they reprogram, what new problems am I likely to encounter? I note from previous posts possible BT pairing issues, radio presets disappear, lawyers screen doesn't go off, etc. These can be handled; anything more serious?

My Ride: (USA) 645Ci, Silver Gray, Chateau, Cold Weather PKG, Premium Sound PKG, Sport PKG, Step, NAV [Std Equip in 645], HUD, Satellite (SIRIUS) Radio, Aux Input, Bluetooth enabled using iPhone 3GS w/ adapter cradle - Build date - 01/05, Baby delivered 2/24/05
Pretty benign update as far as I can tell. Not familiar with the lawyer screen issue unless you are referring to the non-NAV equipped vehicles that have the automatic accept after 10 seconds. Not aware of any impact in this area and it is not listed in the release notes as an issue. As far as the audio that appears to be RDS related and you can keep it selected off in iDrive if it does pose a problem for you. It did not for me. As far as phone, just re-pair phone after update and you should be good to go.

I just got my 2006 530xi back from this recall with the update and so far I can't tell any difference. I have 7K miles on mine. Will keep you updated if anything else is noticable.
