Driving yesterday north on the 405 the following happened in order:

1. Idrive Screen starts Flashing on and off
2. ABS Failure warning
3. Active Roll failure Warning
4. Battery terminal warning
5. AC cuts out
6. Audio cuts out
7. Loss of power steering
8. Loss of Power (like its misfiring)

So I limp off the freeway and hit the SOS button. While Roadside assistance is on the line, I turned off the engine and switch on again after 2 minutes. Engine is fine but no power steering and battery terminal warning.

I drove home (had mother and children in the car). Checked the battery terminals which were fine of course. Waited 45 minutes and all was restored to normal except that Assist had forgotten to disconnect the call so it took over the I-Drive and audio. I called them and after 20 minutes on hold they disconnected. Everything back to normal.

Several members have reported incidents like this so I cannot be sure whether its the new CIP or just a hardware glitch. Glad its self healing and hope it doesn't happen again at least until my new beast arrives.

 

Yikes... ok no Progman 25 for me... I think I'm happy with whatever I have from Nov 2006... I dont even know what version it is...

 

I definitely seems a pattern is emerging with CIP 25, but then yours sounds a bit too extreme for just a softwared issue.

 

Really? I love what they have done in the CIP 25. No complaints. Who else has had failure like this resulting from CIP 25???. I was saying that many other members had reported Electronic failure and all pre-CIP 25 thats why I am questioning whether its hardware or Software.

I think it is very possibly hardware related.

Since everything is OK now with your car, maybe it was a sort of reboot on certain systems...
