I have never heared that 20.02 existed, but my car is updated today with this CIP version.
Does anyone knows what other improvements are included in this new version?
Any news for a service bulletin about?

No, there is no direct SIB out on this. There is an oblique reference to a new "online" updated 20.02 to fix a RAD2 (Radio) issue on E90 (not even a CCC equipped version). So what I believe is the case that 20.02 exists but it only contains the E60/E63 fixes through 20.01 which are documented on the forum here in another thread - search "bulletin".

I did a search through yesterday for anything new and that is all that popped up. I am putting it here for reference although it does not apply to us.

SI B09 06 06
Programming/Coding Explanations February 2006
Technical Service

This Service Information bulletin supersedes S.I. B09 06 06 dated January 2006

(New) designates changes to this revision

SUBJECT
RAD2 Cannot be Programmed after Programming Abort

MODEL
E90/E91 (3 Series)

SITUATION
After a programming abort on the RAD2 (Radio 2) control module during a programming session, the final report shows that RAD/BO and/or M-ASK-H have failed to respond. After restarting the programming session, the status report states that one or both control modules need to be replaced.

CAUSE
RAD2 cannot transfer the correct part information to Progman when not programmed correctly.

(New) CORRECTION
Progman V20.02.00 or later contains software that allows re-programming of aborted RAD2 control modules.

Progman V20.02.00 was released as an online-update 02/01/2006.

Thank you Cobradav,
You are very well informed. Are you a BMW dealer?

They don't let me touch the toys here  So I think being a BMW dealer would be better in that regard. You know, maybe a career change is in order

Mines gone in today & the dealer said that as they got 20.02 this week they will apply that instead of the 20.01 i expected.

They were not sure of any extra features of fixes over 20.01, but they state it can have a slightly different effect from car to car (not sure how that can be), but anyhow at least i'll have the most up to date CIP.

20.02 was a online update for E90 only. U will not have anything different in 20.02 than u would have had in 20.01 for ur E60. But they SHOULD always use the latest. Always ask for a copy of the "Status" report. This is a module by module compare of your software level "IS" versus what "SHOULD" be. They will include teh Target Data Status. From That we derive CIP/PROGMAN level. Ask ahead of time so that it does not get lost.

Why do you need a reprog are you are having probs with your auto trans (slam type issues when pulling awy)? Will this not wipe your DMS tickle?
