Does the birds eye view require a new nav DVD? i'm really excited about this. Are all dealerships able to do this?

If Birdview does require a new DVD depends probably from the version you have. However it works with 2005/01 so I do not see any barrier to have it work with previous versions too. Any dealer with a computer can do the upgrade.

Thanks rhedoc. Did you tell your dealer that you want a software upgrade to play MP3's? Or did you say something like that idrive crashes so they could give you the update?

I asked my dealership last week about doing an upgrade, but he didnt recommend it, saying that upgrades usually cause problems.
What's the difference between regular nav and business nav?

For Bird-Eye-View you only need to get the new CIP update, no new nav disk.
Bus nav is available in Europe. It has the smaller screen and no map, just arrows. It comes with the radio pro and the M-ASK with only a DVD slot for Nav and CD. Nav pro is the standard nav in the US, it has the bigger screen with map and arrows and comes with the radio pro and the CCC and a CD PLUS a nav DVD slot.
I upgraded to 16.2 yesterday and MP3 disks will not work with our 5 series. The standard head unit in NA will not support MP3 playback. It is equivalent to a Business head unit in Europe.
If you have the Pro Nav, it will support MP3's in September when the software is updated.
Doesnt the USA get the Professional radio as standard and then the only NAV is the professional one
No. In the US the standard radio is also the business radio.
The radio pro is an option.
On nav (bus and pro) you get the radio pro automatically.
For MP3 you need the radio pro, but with nav pro (that's the standard nav in the US) you will get the software upgrade for MP3 support in September.
On nav business you insert the nav disc, enter the address, and as soon as the route is calculated you can eject the nav disc and insert any music CD. The nav then continues it's guidance, even without the disc. You can also enter a new destination then. The M-ASK reads the disc when you start it and puts the infos it needs in its memory.
