My Ride: 530d SE, Leather, Nav 606, BT phone, advanced Aircon
I had my software upgraded to 16.2 yesterday. I have noticed the following improvements
1) Able to play MP3 from the Navigation DVD drive.
2) MP3 can be played from CD-R,RW and DVD-R media.
3) In the phone menu there are now alphabet in addition numbers - ? reason
4) With the navigation (Business) - there are highlightable icons to mute voice commands, to end guidance (without returning to the main menu) and access trffic information right away.
I am sure there are more minor improvements but have come across only the above in the few minutes I was able to play with it. MP3 can only played from the DVD drive rather than the 6 cd changer.

Thanks rhedoc. Did you tell your dealer that you want a software upgrade to play MP3's? Or did you say something like that idrive crashes so they could give you the update?

My Ride: 2004 Titanium Gray 545i auto, navigation, premium sound/Logic7, cold weather, adaptive Xenon, Lumbar support, split rear seat, PDC.
I just got mine back today after an update from Desimone BMW in New Jersey and nav now has birds eye view. Haven't checked MP3 yet

Does the birds eye view require a new nav DVD? i'm really excited about this. Are all dealerships able to do this?
I asked my dealership last week about doing an upgrade, but he didnt recommend it, saying that upgrades usually cause problems.
What's the difference between regular nav and business nav?

[/quote]I upgraded to 16.2 yesterday and MP3 disks will not work with our 5 series. The standard head unit in NA will not support MP3 playback. It is equivalent to a Business head unit in Europe.
If you have the Pro Nav, it will support MP3's in September when the software is updated.
