This seems have turned into a "chrome-free" thread but I have OEM chrome wheels on my '04 that originally came with the car when I bought it used. While it would not have been my first choice of wheels when I bought the car, I actually get a lot of compliments on the wheels just because you don't see them on BMW's that often.

Listen guy, there is a code of the streets around here. NO CHROME. ever. even if you have chrome trim around your windows like me, it is your mission to work every day as hard as you can to replace it. Work hard man. No chrome.
Did I mention no chrome, ever................anywhere on the car.
No chrome.
Not even the model number on the back of the car.
No chrome. anywhere. ever.

Anzafin, thanks man . Im actaully planning on doing something intense with the wheels but i just wanted to say anything looks good if you do it right and most importantly do what you like. But hands down this is the best forum I have joined...

My E60 is Monaco (dark navy metallic) and I love my stock silver (painted) wheels. I'm tempted to get the same wheels in chrome (see below). I need some opinions as to what everyone thinks. Is it a good decision or does it lean toward the "ricer side" of modding. Thanks for your opinion.

ok, to throw a spanner in the works.....
i agree that chrome wheels can look too much on a class car like a BMW, but some chrome ie: number plate trim, grill, mirror trim etc can look tastefull
lets be honist here if its good enough for BMW when it leaves the factory it must be good enough for those who love the marque?
if your anti chrome period, then your saying that your car has faults standard?? think about it.
