Hi, need advice on breaking pads and discs choice.

I have to change all my pads and rear discs, and I am most inclined to go for official BMW, as I know they will handle 545i power and work in synch with electronics (ABS etc) + are famous for quality, however the price is relatively high at dealers. EBC break pads and discs are advertised a lot in UK BMW magazines, but are they actually better or on par with BMW brakes. (they cost significantly less, half of BMW, hence my interest).

Thanks for all the support in advance.

P.S. in such good sunny weather, just have to tell, ENJOY UR BMWs guys!!!

If you need to replace anything, and it's not under warranty, I would always suggest getting good quality upgrade parts. In this case I have had a great experience with Hawk pads, combine them with R1 Concepts rotors (both available from AcutePerformance - a.k.a. Michael). Good luck, I know a few members will suggest OEM, but there really are better options.

JURID are the OEM manufacturer of the pads for your car, get them in the right size for your car and they are no different to what BMW box and sell. Match them to a good quality disk I.E. Mintex or Brembo standard disk and you will have the same OEM performance. Don't get EBC disks and pads they are rubbish, they advertise everywhere but the quality isnt what they make it out to be, they are very much a budget brand.
