Chipping?
Hey guys.
Was just driving my 520i and thought of "crazy?" idea to find out if it is possible to chip my car to get more BHP in it? Bought this car just after new year to save on Irish Tax with lower engine, so this is the reason why I raised this question. 520i is 2.2l with 170 BHP. So any ideas?
Thanks

I had a 320i back in the day with that same engine. I would suggest the following exhaust for you: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...e&apwidKE3cT52
It is manufactured by this company (with the 2.2L engine in mind): http://www.eberspaecher.com/servlet/..._l1/index.html
The next thing I would suggest is to remove your charcoal filter from the air box.
Aside from this I don't think there's not a whole lot more you can do to eek out more power from that small engine. I'm sure others will chime in with any other ideas.

Get yourself a Velocity Booster, and as SFS550 said, get your charcoal filter removed (and while you're doing that, consider yourself of investing an alternative air filter! I got a BMC air filter and they're fantastic, especially during winter with cold air intake!)
Change your exhaust as well?
Don't know if supercharging is worth a go...

I'd say supercharging. You wont get much out of chipping a normally aspirated engine. Perhaps 5-10 hp whereas you'll add 80-100 hp with a supercharger system and related tweaks. Check esstuning.com and search on your engine size.
