So I justed picked up a cpo 528i yesterday. Seems to be in perfect condition. My question is this. When I stick in the key and WITHOUT PRESSING the brake, I push the Start/Stop button, all the lights come ON and then all go OFF except for the CHECK ENGINE light. But when I press the brakes and push the button again, the light goes off.
Is this normal or should I get it checked?
The light does NOT come on while driving.
Any bimmer pros, please chime in.

So I just called the dealership to ask them this question. They say as long as the light goes OFF when the engine is running, I'm fine. Can anyone, anyone, please confirm?

Since it's CPO, you might want to take it in, & have it read for any codes. Or take it to an autozone & let them check it with an OBD II reader. It's free. The dealer may just be telling you it's nothing, but just for peace of mind, I would get it checked.
