BMW just delivered my custom ordered 535i Awesome car!!! I just put tints on it and did the DIY for the sub/amp install. Now everything seems to work fine, but every 4-6 hours the car loses the date/time and the iDrive reported massive discharge on the battery, I've double checked battery terminals and everything looks fine. Also, now there's a check engine light...it's yellow and looks kinda like a "plumbing faucet" if you will. I read in the owner's manual saying it's because of the gas/exhaust and it goes away in a couple of days, I'm starting to get a lil worried now...only 548 miles Any suggestions?

Miami535i make sure you call BMW Dealer next thing in the morning and set up an appointment... It doesn't look like normal for a brand new E60... Goodluck!!

It sounds like something is preventing the car from going to sleep. Maybe something with the sub/amp install? How did you hook them up to a power source?

Funny thing is that my car is doing the same thing (not sleeping) but I didn't do any mods...

Sounds like something went wrong with your DIY job......the computers in these cars check all kinds of parameters, circuit load, over/under volts & the like, so while your connections may look fine, the install may be the issue here.

Exactly. If there wasn't any mention of a DIY sub/amp install, I'd say have the dealer check it out. Because of the DIY job, I'm bet anything they hooked something up that isn't shutting off 100% which is causing the car to not go to sleep...

Well, just came back from the dealership. He told me the "FYI"...lol FYI was that everytime any 08+ e60 you take off the battery terminal (disconnecting all power to the vehicle)....check engine light comes on upon starting the vehicle again after re-conencting power. So they did a "total" reset and check engine light went away and drove off from the dealership with the sub still "thumping"...so I guess the installation went well. Never the less, I'm loving this car. I'm thinking about putting some 20" 5-spoke deep dish wheels, I like the maya's anybody have any other suggestions? It's the deep sea blue 535i And has anybody done any performance mods to theirs yet? All suggestions are appreciated.

I'm not trying to jinx you and I hope I'm wrong here but depending on how the sub and amps were wired, don't be surprised if you end up with the battery discharge warning again...
