Default Chassis Grounding Strap

How big of a job is it to replace the chassis grounding strap on a E60 and what would be a reasonable cost to fix it at a $tealership?

I have a 2006 530xi. It isn't all that hard. Right side...the body side is attached to a bolt or stud on the fender as I recall. Under the car, the strap is connected to the right side front right axle housing. I distinctly remember having to bend the tab of the strap on the side that connects to the fender to get it to fit properly. On the side that connects to the axle housing, I don't remember if I got to it from under the car or though the wheel well with the plastic inner fender shield(s) removed. I do remember being able to see the part, but having to wrench it more or less by feel. If you took it to the dealer, there is no way it is more than an hour labor - i know it took me less time than that from start to finish.

Unfortunately, the BMW master mechanic I use has a setup at his house. At the time, my car was disabled, and facing the wrong way on a residential street, so I had to get it out of there with no idea of what was wrong with it. He would not permit me to have it flatbeded to his house, so I had no choice but have it towed to a dealer.

I see now, how unfortunate. My indy had his own shop. I had my car towed there late at night one time, and I just drop off the key in the key slot.
