Thumbs up

My car has the original BMW Xenon headlights (non adaptive).

Does anybody know if it is possible to;

1. Swap the single Xenon headlights for Bi Xenon headlights
2. Swap the single Xenon headlights for Adaptive Bi Xenon headlights?

Read some posts about retrofitting from halogen to Xenon but I could find none covering stock xenon to bi-xenon.

Contact your dealer.

The basic Bi Xenons are only a two light system that moves a cover up for the hi-beams.

What's the difference between the xenon and Bi-xenons.

I have xenons and have adaptive headlights (that moves as you turn), do I have bi-xenons? Sorry I was never sure about this as I'm the second owner bought at a auction so not 100% sure about the original equipment that came with the car.

Thanks

I have bi-xenons on both my vehicles and from what I gather it simply means the brights are also xenon instead of an auxiliary halogen bulb.

Oh, and Yes - It is 100% possible to retrofit, but you will probably need new headlights - I doubt it would be cost effective. Might be cheaper to retrofit an aftermarket HID system into the inside lens assembly to use as brights - unless you have daytime running lights, don't do it because you will ruin your ballast.

All E60 xenons are bi-xenons. For high beam a shield is moved in the xenon projector to give a brighter light but the inner halogen bulb is lit.

It would be strange for them not to be bi-xenon. If you think about it, we want xenons because they provide more illumination of the road ahead. In those times when those xenons aren't quite enough, and you want to switch to high beam, it would be a bit odd if you're adding a puny bit of halogen light out there. That's the time when you'd need even more of that juicy xenon power.
