Is it possible to swap the old LCI iDrive knob for the new 2009 version. It seems to be a lot better quality (although I haven't actually seen it in the flesh). I'm guessing changing the surrounding console which has the new shortcut buttons is not cost viable though and will probably require a software upgrade. Thanks.

I'm guessing it is a straight swap with little effort i.e. once pulled off, it is the same fitment?
Does anyone know about the other buttons around the new iDrive knob? Can these be retro fitted and get working with the existing LCI iDrive software? Is it possible to upgrade the software for older LCI E60s?
TIA
