Any comment on the 245/45/17 Goodyear NCT 5 (RF)? I am not experiencing much noise and they feel confortable on the rain. But then again, I only have 143miles.

But coming from non-sport pkg with 225/55/16 conti..i have a good idea about noise. Those are less quiet it than 'mute'
I have NCT5 of the same dimension for more than 15000 miles. What a crap!!! I agree that they are very silencious and wear endurant (nearly as new in front 30 % worn at the back). But they are very rough. Nearly no filtration what ever pressure. As regards the adhesion its OK but up to 5 ? C. Below they are very bad in traction on wet or greasy roads.

Allow me to share my experience. I changed to HanKook Icebear. Same size. IMHO, the ride has improved a great deal. (BTW, is it fair for me to seek for "ride" in a BMW machine???) Of course I certainly could cut the sharpest turn in my life with the RFT.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets. First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.

Ditto. Yesterday, I had my new-last-season 235 45x17 snows installed on new ASA 17 wheels from the Tire Rack, and all is quiet and well. They are Semperits that I got on sale last year and they are good in snow and handle well. I gave my old 540 sport (replica) winter wheels that were so pitted to my repair shop guy. Figured he'd find a good home for them. Remarkable difference in ride and thumping. The shock that those RFs transmit can't be good for body integrity over the long haul....

BTW: the 17" Bayern 5 (designed for BMW use) that Discount Tire Warehouse swore would fit over my 545 sport calipers, didn't. They were returned for credit.
