changed waterpump know im stuck

i recently change my water pump,thermostat, hoses,pulley expansion tank, and coolant sensor but know im stuck trying to put back on the ac belt which has been a PITA. i brought the bmw belt tool but im having no luck with it. has anyone here used the belt tool, if so what is the proper way of using it? also i found this underneath the engine anyone has any idea what it is ? thanks for the help

looks like an oil pressure switch/sensor to me. someone likely replaced it, the old one fell down, and they never bothered to fish it out of the belly pan.

Definitely an oil pressure sensor, its known to commonly leak on our 545. It is located just below and towards the back of vacuum pump; not easily visible nor replacing.
Somehow I managed to install my belt without a tool. I wouldn't recommend this but I first wrapped the belt around the compressor pulley and then the unbolted crank pulley. Next (with a lot of elbow grease) I miraculously bolted the pulley on.
