An intresting one. Before Christmas my central locking started playing up, I couldnt lock or unlock the car with the key fob. It was fine with the key, other than the alarm going of everytime I opened the door. At the same time, my wife pointed out that I had a crack developing at the base of the windscreen by the pillar in front of the driver. I got the local windscreen people to repair it under insurance (?650 otherwise), anyway since then the alarm works perfectly in over a month no repeat of the problem.

I can only summise that the crack, which was only 2 inches long and right at the base of the screen, was distorting the signal from the key fob to the sensor.

I wondered if anyone else had heard of this problem and is it just concidence or is it possible that a crack in this location and of this size could affect the central locking signal?

Cheers
