Somehow the little plastic latch mounted on the arm rest door that holds it down got broken. Now the spring in the arm rest cover keeps the cover floating at about 45 degree angle. Its driving me nuts. I called my local dealer and they want some $800 to replace the entire arm rest cover. They say the latch itself can't be replaced, which seems nuts. At this point, I'd be happy to keep it from springing into the 45 degree position. I'ver search all over the area for ways to open it up and hopefully neuter the spring that opens the cover, but am not being successful.

Anyone have any experience/suggestions.
