I did my CDV replacement with a Zeckhausen racing unit last night. It was a PITA to do on low ramps!!!! My rhino ramps don't get the car very far off the ground and it was tight under there. also had problems bleeding the slave cylinder, it took forever and was messy. but I finally finish it at 1am and took it for a ride. it is much better with the new valve. clutch engagement is much better. i used instructions ound on here and they where great.
also installed my RPI scoop without breaking tabs on the kidneys. all in all, a very good friday night.

My BMW tech gave me this tip, it worked for me, so I am passing it on: You can bleed the air from the clutch lines by pushing the clutch pedal up and down until pressure builds up. At the beginning you might have to use your hand since there will be no back pressure to lift the pedal up. But if you move the lever up and down quickly the system is able to bleed itself. It is also a good idea to double check the fluid level in the rear chamber of the brake master cylinder when finished.

I initially thought of the same method too.
My experiences bleeding Japanese cars' brake/clutch after track days told me to just use "manual" method after installing the CDV.
On the 545, I found it the hard way that the clutch pedal was never back to normal even after wasting 2 bottles of brake fluid.
I seriously had no idea why. I even thought that 545 6MT had a separate clutch fluid reservoir which in fact it's combined w/ brake reservoir.
I called my buddy and borrowed the pressure bleeder, it bled in 20 mins w/o any issues!
So do yourselves a favor and get pressure bleeder. It makes your life much easier! GUARANTEED!!
