I just got the latest software version loaded to resolved some iDrive issues.

Today, I noticed for the first time that I now have CD track names when I'm playing CD on the In-Dash player, but the same CD in the Six CD Changer, no names! What's with that!

Some of the above threads are over two years old...since many discs don't have the text, it might be that you're just noticing it now because you never had a disc with CD text playing in the in-dash slot?

 

I don't know about that. I find the CD changer sounds quite a bit better than the single player. Different DAC perhaps?

 

I thought of that, so the pictures are of the same CD being played on the In Dash and then again in the Six CD Changer, with the in dash showing track names and the Six CD changer with nothing.

 

Ya as for now CD changer doenst support anything other than Audio CDs and thats it. No names no id tags... nothing. Just sound.

 

That's the way it works for me. I get names for audio CD's in the single slot. As I recall, I get garbaged names when playing MP3s--which I found to be a waste of what's left of my still pretty decent hearing.
