On non nav cars it doesn't seem to work.
The radio pro is the one you need for it, just like MP3 playback.

A few of my most recent CD's already have the CD text set up, the new Oasis album, plus the new Bloc Party and Louis XIV CD's all show CD text track info. Other than that, yes, you'll have to burn copies using Nero or Toast.
