I have a standard stereo in my 530D and have come across an irritating problem. Every time I switch the ignition off the cd goes back to the beginning either of the whole cd or of that track. You wouldn't think this was much of an issue, but I spend a lot of time listening to 'talking books' while driving and it is a real pain to have to spend the first 3 minutes of EVERY journey trying to find my place again. Bring back cassettes! they were so simple!.

Anyone else come across this problem? Is there anything I can do about it?

This issue is fixed in version 12 i-drive s/w. Book the car in with your dealer for the update.

The newest s/w seems to be 12.1.2 - and it solves this problem !

 

Yes, got version 12.1.2 installed today and the CD issue seems to have been resolved.
