First post and new owner of a 2005 525i. My issue is when I put in a cd I get static. My radio is clear and the problem persists after I purchased a lens cleaner. Any tips you give will be much appreciated.

Hi in4maous
I hope you are not experiencing the same problem I had this winter when my cd player also played static when the car/player was cold but, as it warmed up the static reduced and the music came through. I mentioned it when I took my 2005 520d for it's oil service 6 days before the three year warranty ran out and they told me the cd player was faulty and needed replacing. The problem is, as many on this forum will know, the cd player is part of the main computer controller.
They replaced the unit under warranty but told me it would have cost approx ?1000 + labour (I'm from the UK) out of warranty.
