I just had my 530 in to enable MP3 capabilities and they upgraded the software. The MP3s played fine.

Now, the in-dash player won't recognize the disk and the disk won't eject.

The disk is home-burned, but on quality media.

Anyone have any workarounds to get the disk ejected?

Marc

Happened to me several times, but mainly when the disc are dirty or scratched, then it gets stuck in there for awhile, but push the eject button, keep pushing, eventually it'll come out, patience. Once time it took like 30 minutes before it came out, but thailand traffic jam made it seem short. So yeah, sorry no real solution, but just patience worked for me.

A little off-topic, but what did you do to get the mp3 capability from your dealer? Do you just ask them directly? Or do you have to tell the dealer that the iDrive is slow and it needs 'updating'?

I told them that the MP3 functionality did not work and, as on '06, it is supposed to. They had the car for two days updating the s/w.

Recently this happened in a friends car and this is what I did. You need to be careful with this method. Using a thin flat object (I used a swiss army knife) looked inside by raising a thin plastic flaps that cover the CD opening, each time I pressed the eject button I could see the CD lift but not eject out. So I pressed eject and then put the knife below the CD and didn't allow the player to lower it back. The player didn't like what I did and spat the CD out.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm gonna try and see if my dealership will do it without any hassles on my '05.

Depends when your MY05 was built and do you have navigation?

Or instead try this... get another CD and when you hit the eject button kinda push the CD into the slot for a split second giving the CD inside a nudge and the CD player also wont like what you did and would probably spit the CD out too.

Goddamn, have the same problem with every burned media. It takes forever for player to eject the CD. Any fixes for this?
